HBOT - Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Home > HBOT - Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
  • Introduction

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment. It is highly recommended when the body does not have an adequate supply of oxygen that is needed for serious infections, bubbles of air in your blood vessels, burns, and non-healing wounds as a result of diabetes. Here, the additional use of hyperbaric oxygen stimulates the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, to fight bacteria and promote faster healing.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical hyperbaric treatment which enhances the body’s natural healing process by inhalation of 100% oxygen in a total body chamber, where atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled. It is used for a wide variety of treatments usually as a part of an overall medical care plan and / or for a specialized treatment.

If your doctor suggest HBOT, just look for hyperbaric treatments near me or call us.

  • How it’s used

Designed to simultaneously attend up to 3 patients in combination of beds and/or seats customized according to the requirement. One Bed and Two Seats (Total 3 patients). Patient has to sit / sleep in the chamber for the session.

The treatment is very comfortable, painless and non-invasive. During the first and the last 8 to 10 minutes of the treatment (pressurization and depressurization), you may feel your ears pressurize similar to what you might experience in an airplane during take-off or landing.

  • Benefits of HBOT

    • Hyperoxygenation: Increasing the pressure in the chamber while breathing increases alveolar po2. The increased blood oxygen transport via plasma increases tissue po2 and helps in healing.
    • Neovascularization: Increases po2 is important for the release of growth hormone which is needed for capillary growth.
    • Vasoconstriction: Use of hyperbaric oxygen reduces cerebral edema and increases oxygen supply to the brain.
    • Microorganism effect: Increased phagocytosis has antibacterial effects.
    • Effect on stem cells: It stimulates the vasculogenic stem cell mobilization from bone marrow.

Wound & Vein Clinic, is amongst the few hospitals that offer HBOT treatment in Mumbai. For more information on HBOT at the most affordable rates, call us today.
